Hello! Brodsky Ministries has been busy adding new items and changing things to serve you better! This newsletter is filled with a lot of exciting things!
September was a busy month for us. Mark celebrated a birthday he'll never forget! It was the same day we welcomed our future son-in-law, Tristan Ford, into the family. Tristan had asked for Cassie's hand in marriage the night before. They have been courting for approximately 5 months. Tristan has recently made the decision, along with Cassie's help, to enter the ministry. We are excited about what God has planned for them.
Here is a picture of the happy couple:

In conjunction with our donations, we have volunteered at Water Missions International. For those in the Charleston, SC area, Water Missions needs your help! They are always in need of volunteers to put the water treatment systems together and help out in the office. For more information, visit their web site: www.watermissions.org
Here are 4 busy workers:

We also had a great time with friends and family, camping at Hunting Island, SC. We went fishing, crabbing, and swam in the ocean. It was amazing to walk on the beach at night and see the incredible amount of stars in the sky. As we walked along the beach I thought, "how can people not believe in God?" It's the same feeling I got when I saw the Grand Canyon. Breathtaking.
While camping, we caught ghost crabs. It was also a lot of fun catching them. What was even more fun was watching grown men chase down crabs with nets! Hunting Island is a beautiful place. We'd like to go back during the cooler weather when the mosquitoes aren't biting! Here is a link for more information about Hunting Island: www.huntingisland.com/navigator.htm

Health News
This is an excerpt from Hallelujah Acres' e-newsletter, regarding The Maker's Diet. I often get asked if I recommend this diet and I always say no, because it promotes eating animal products. For more information on The Maker's Diet, you can purchase a new book, "A Response to the Maker's Diet" Here is what Rev. Malkmus has to say about it:
WARNING: POTENTIAL DANGERS IN MAKER'S DIET - PART 3
In Health Tip #407, I shared the following letter from Karen, one of our Health Tip subscribers, who had sent me a very sad letter, a letter that powerfully brought to light some of what this editor has been saying regarding The Maker's Diet for some time now:
"Dear George, I love your ministry and have received your weekly Health Tips and Back to the Garden magazine for quite some time. Thank you for your dedication and ministry! May God bless you for your efforts! A young 17 - year-old girl in my church just recently died of leukemia. She had been on The Hallelujah Diet and had seen great results, even seen her cancer go into remission. Then she got off the diet and the cancer came back. Anyway, she
started in again with lots of carrot juice and barley, but after reading The Maker's Diet, started consuming animal products again, including lots of goat milk. When she became interested in The Maker's Diet, I became very concerned, because of your teachings. She died last week. I am now trying to sort through all of my emotions and deal with her death for we all loved her so much. I just can't shake the feeling that if she had stuck to your Hallelujah Diet, and not added back all those animal products that she might still be with us today. Could the huge amount of goat's milk and the introduction of other things from The Maker's Diet have caused this young girl's life to be taken from us too soon? Because of the death of this young girl, I am back on The Hallelujah Diet again, and doing it strictly and faithfully."
In response, this editor wrote: "Dear Karen, In answer to your question: 'Could the huge amount of goat's milk and the introduction of other things from The Maker's Diet have caused this young girl's life to be taken?' My answer is:
'ABSOLUTELY!' Anyone who has been receiving my weekly Health Tip for any length of time, knows that this editor has repeatedly warned folks, that if they have seen their cancers go into remission on The Hallelujah Diet, DO NOT GO BACK TO CONSUMING ANIMAL PRODUCTS OF ANY KIND! The reason I have made such a strong warning was because we have had several reports of people who had seen their cancers go into remission, only to see the cancer return after adding animal products back into their diets. Also, an ever increasing number of scientific studies reveal that not only do animal products CAUSE cancer, but that animal products actually FEED cancer."
My above response to Karen generated the following letter from Dorothy, which I shared last week in Health Tip #408:
"George, Your latest Health Tip #407 stressed again no meat. But with organic meats, is there absolutely no compromise between your Hallelujah Diet and a 'modified' diet that more realistically allows for travel, eating out, eating organic animal products, and eating with friends and family? It SEEMS you believe there is NO advantage to eating less animal products or organic animal products - it's none or forget even trying to include some ideas of
The Hallelujah Diet. Am I interpreting you correctly? Right now I am trying to limit my diet to one serving of animal protein per day or a maximum of 9 servings per week and get back to more raw fruits and vegetables. But the 'follow The Hallelujah Diet 100% or don't bother' concept causes me frustration and discouragement."
A Healthy Recipe From Linda's Kitchen
Three-Bean Chili This is a recipe from Hallelujah Kids I haven't made this one yet, but I will!
Ingredients:
1/2 cup water or vegetable broth or wine
1 medium onion, chopped
2 cloves garlic, minced
7 cups water
1/3 cup tomato puree
2 cups brown lentils
1 green bell pepper, seeded and chopped (organic is a must!)
1 yellow or red bell pepper, seeded and chopped (organic is a must!)
2 1/2 cups cooked or canned dark kidney beans, drained and rinsed
1 cup cooked or canned pinto beans, drained and rinsed
2 cups cooked fresh or canned tomatoes with juice
1 Tbsp. chili powder
1 Tbsp. ground cumin
1/4 tsp. cayenne pepper
1/4 tsp. black pepper
Directions:
Heat the water or broth in a large heavy soup pot over medium heat. Add the onion, garlic and carrot. Cook and stir over medium heat about 5 minutes. Add more liquid if necessary. Add 7 cups water, tomato puree, lentils, green pepper, yellow pepper, and black pepper. Bring to a boil. Reduce heat, cover, and simmer for 45 minutes until lentils are tender, adding more water if necessary. Enjoy!
Prayer Requests
We truly believe in the power of prayer and ask that you remember us with the following requests:
That we conceive soon, and my progesterone levels stay up.
For our current real estate transaction to be profitable and move quickly. Please pray that we also find some more real estate worth buying.
For more web site and computer -- related business to meet the needs of our bills, especially our mortgage.
For our daughter, Cassie and her betrothed Tristan, that they will put God first in everything they do.
For our son, Edward and his goal to reach Eagle Scout. We are in the process of requesting an extension from the Eagle Scout Review Board. Please pray they grant our request.
That we can be a light to our family and new neighbors.
Praises
We certainly couldn't ask for prayer requests without telling you of some answered prayers! How could we give God the glory if we didn't share! We praise Him for the following items:
Mark and I celebrated our 11th anniversary this past weekend!
Cassie and Tristan's betrothal
We had a wonderful and safe time camping with our friends and Mark's sister and family.
Comments
"I visited your booth last year at the SCHEA conference. I was not able to attend this year, but my sister called this week to tell me about an article in your September newsletter....I received your catalog yesterday - fast! I glanced through it last night, but can't wait to have time to look over it more detail this weekend...As I read over the last newsletter on line, I am really excited about the directions to make my own laundry detergent. My three sisters and I have planned to get together soon to mix up a batch! Thanks so much for your informative ministry to all of us!
As a side note, I just returned from the creative/children's seminar at Crossroads. I was in a full-face painting class, looked at the name of the instructor (Cassie Brodsky), and asked her if she was of the homeschooling Brodsky family, which she was. She did a remarkable job at painting faces, even while there were extremely rude young children in the classroom who were quite obviously there not to learn but simply to have their faces painted. She handled the situation very well and was much more patient than I probably would have been under the circumstances. You should be proud!" - A.B., Blythewood, SC
We appreciate all comments and suggestions you may have for Brodsky Ministries. Please feel free to give them here! Thank you!
