Happy 2005!!
We hope everyone had a blessed Christmas! We stayed at home and enjoyed
some nice quiet family time.
We bought the kids an early Christmas present this year - something they
have wanted for a few years - a Yorkie puppy! His name is Teddy and
he's really cute! He has a ton of energy, but also likes his long
naps! Here is a picture of him!
Mark played Santa Claus in a light-hearted church play this year. It
went really well and people seemed to enjoy it. The church was packed!
I was involved in the Special Christmas Choir again this year and we
sang "The Hallelujah Chorus" Brooklyn Tabernacle style. It was a
difficult piece, but it was well worth it. Everyone enjoyed it. We
will be doing it again this month when our choir visits another church.
For New Year's we went to my parents' condo on Marco Island, Florida. The weather was beautiful and we had a good visit with them. As usual, the children got spoiled by grandma and grandpa! My parents decided that we didn't have enough pets (a new Christmas puppy, Clifford our Airedale Terrier, 2 parakeets, 2 goldfish, a huge iguana and a guinea pig), so they bought David and Victoria 4 hermit crabs! It was fun to play with the hermit crabs and my parents surprisingly loved them too and let them walk all over their dining room table! My mother said she was going to miss them when we took them home, so I suggested she get some for herself!

HEALTH NEWS
As I stated in the last newsletter, since researching progesterone and
transdermal creams, I have a great interest in finding out the
ingredients in products that I use on my body. We are really excited to
become a distributor for Burt's Bees since there products are all
natural. Here is a list of ingredients that you WON'T find in any
Burt's Bees products:
ALUMINUM CHLOROHYDRATE - The active ingredient in many antiperspirants. Inhibits the normal bodily function of underarm sweating. The use of aluminum compounds in personal care is currently under scrutiny. DIMETHICONE - Silicone polymer used to modify a product's feel or contribute water resistance. Silicone polymers used in breast implants caused serious health problems and were subsequently banned by the Food & Drug Administration. FD&C and D&C COLORS - Petroleum derived synthetic colors can be toxic and cause allergy. The Food and Drug Administration have banned numerous FD&C and D&C colors as emerging scientific data found them unsafe for human use. FORMALDEHYDE - One of the most toxic of all personal care ingredients. This irritating and allergenic preservative was commonly used in shampoos. METHYL, ETHYL, PROPYL, BUTYL PARABENS - Petroleum derived toxic preservative chemicals, which can be lethal to many life forms beyond their target microorganisms in personal care products. Parabens have a history of causing allergy and irritation in human skin. MINERAL OIL - Mineral Oil is inappropriately named since it bears no relationship to minerals. It is merely a synthetic chemical fraction of petroleum. PETROLATUM - This semisolid chemical is actually a mixture of mineral oil and paraffinic waxes. Derived from petroleum, and historically used and trusted by millions, this chemical has no justifiable role in the well being of human skin. PROPYLENE GLYCOL - Liquid preservative, solvent and antifreeze, this toxic petroleum derivative is known to cause allergy and irritation. SODIUM LAURYL SULFATE - One of the original synthetic ingredients used in personal care products. Very aggressive and irritating, this chemical may have more far reaching toxic effects than previously thought. TALC - This insoluble powdered mineral can cause respiratory illness.
I urge you to read the ingredients on your soaps, shampoos and lotions
and discontinue use if any of these ingredients is listed.
A HEALTHY RECIPE FROM LINDA'S KITCHENPineapple Fruit Smoothie This was a part of our fast this month. It's delicious! If you have any leftover, just pop it in an ice cube tray with popsicle sticks. The kids love this frozen treat! Ingredients:
