Sorry it has been so long since our last newsletter. It has been a whirlwind of activity going on over here. Some good, some not so good.
First, back in March, a man "t-boned" our van on the way back from our homeschool's group Science Fair. Our beloved van, Charlie, was totalled. In the van at the time were me, Victoria and David. Victoria got hurt the worst with a concussion, black eye and HUGE bump on her head. She went into shock at the scene, which was a blessing in disguise because David was well aware of everything that happened and is now traumatized by the accident. I hurt my back and neck and have been seeing a Physical Therapist.
Our beloved Charlie is wrecked, but it could have been much worse for us.
A couple of weeks after the accident, we went to North Carolina for the Monterey Maple Festival. We were way up north and west, in the mountains and it was cold! David and Victoria were SO excited! It snowed and they got to play in it! It seems that they don't remember playing in the snow when we lived in New York. It was as if they saw it for the first time!
David and Victoria playing in the snow! Making snowmen, snow angels and having a snowball fight with daddy! You can still see Victoria's black eye from the accident.
I didn't know it at the time of the accident, but we found out soon after that I'm pregnant! I am currently at almost 12 weeks and everything looks great! David and Victoria got to come in and see the sonogram. They are SO excited! The baby was dancing around and the heart was beating - a very welcomed relief for all of us! Yesterday, we had a check-up and heard the heart beating - it was really great to hear! Praise God I am doing well! He/she is due on Thanksgiving - we will have MUCH to be thankful for this year!
Homeschool Convention Time!
We have been so busy getting ready for conventions! Be sure to come visit us at the following ones:
SC Bridge Convention 5/17-5/19
N. Charleston, SC
FPEA Florida Convention 5/24-26
Orlando, FL
If you haven't booked your hotel, airfare or rental car for these conventions, (or any summer travel!), be sure to use our Expedia or Orbitz link on our homepage. You get great rates, and we get credit, just for you going through our site! We would really appreciate it.
Mark will be speaking at both of these. So dads come on out! He will be talking about working from home and how fathers can come home from their jobs and be with their family. He has done this talk in the past and had an awesome turnout in Florida last year - there must've been 400 men in the room! Mark has a lot of new things he would like to share, so ladies get your hubbies to come and see him! His workshop is entitled, "Home 'work' for Dads". You can also check out his website www.homeworkfordads.com.
David has been very busy making marshmallow guns and Victoria will be selling her beaded jewelry again. Be sure to stop by our booths and say hello!
Many New Products!
Be sure to check out our website for many new products available including fun new homeschool t-shirts! We will also be adding some new Burt's Bees items - so be sure to keep your eye out for them!
Prayer Requests
* Please pray for the health of our unborn baby.
* Please pray for our prodigals, Cassie and Eddie, that they will love God with all their heart, mind, soul and strength and obey Him only and not the world.
* Please pray for traveling mercies as we go down to Florida for the FPEA convention. Pray that we can be a blessing to others and that we would meet the needs of everyone that God puts in our path.
Thank you so much! Have a wonderful spring and we will see you when we get back from our trip!
